“Just wanted to take a moment to thank you guys for the hand you play in making the Jazz fest come to life. It was great again I have yet to miss a year and love to see how much it grows year by year no doubt much works goes into it to make it a great event for us all.

I'm also grateful for the efforts done in the Ogontz Plaza, I was reading an article I believe in The Leader on how Mr. Kitchen contacted Starbucks at one time for a move there and while they may have laughed, it's good to know the vision that's had for the area and it shows via the businesses that have taken up residence there. The greening is noticed as well, nice seeing the gentlemen out sweeping or watering flowers when I'm on my way to work in the mornings. Just everything you all are doing for the area is much appreciated. It increases the value of life for us all and I don't want to take for granted the fact that you guys exist and the changes are noticed.”

“I just wanted to take this opportunity to commend OARC on an outstanding West Oak Lane Jazz Festival this past weekend.  The festival was more organized than in past years from the Food Tickets for Vendors and the Food Pavilion, well planned signage, accessibility to ATM’s, Restrooms, etc.

The tents were uniform in size and the colored flags stood out as well as the booth numbers. The brochure was vibrant and well organized including the “Tips”. The music was sensational each and every day. The vendors were knowledgeable and pleasant.

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Sadiki’s where we were seated on the porch area.

Thanks again for a job well done and see you next year!!!!”

“What a wonderful week-end we just had. You out-did yourselves. The music was great, the vendors were plentiful, the food was good and somebody must have prayed for good weather, because even that was good.

You had something for every taste. I'm a 74-year old woman who loves traditional jazz mostly so I was in my world with all the jazz acts you had, but I appreciate the groups like War, The Whispers, Ashford & Simpson and The O-Jays. Despite my age, (I'm blessed with good health), I was able to attend all three days and was well satisfied.

I wish you continued success and look forward to next year.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.”

“What pride. What excitement. What a true pleasure it was to return to Philadelphia on June 20th to visit my mother in West Oak Lane for her 72nd birthday and experience what "community", "culture", and "local pride" truly mean. You have proven again to others and to would be nay-sayers that investing in and organizing events by and for the local neighborhoods in Philadelphia can be a safe, enjoyable, and productive endeavor that is attractive to hundreds of thousands within and outside of the area. Young and old, black and white all had a chance to explore this Philadelphia cultural tapestry that I so cherish that is woven with our music, culture, food, art, family, block parties, local talent, neighborhood camaraderie, and pride. Our young people were reminded through this event not only of what gifts to the world we as a people and a community have produced, but also of that which they are capable of producing in the years to come. May God continue to bless and augment you, your family, your team, and your career. Thank you for what you do.”

“Just wanted to send you a note to congratulate you on an amazing event. I attended the festival last year (before I was with the NORC), and now that I know the OARC staff, I could really see each and every staff member working together to seamlessly address every possible issue.

Anyway, it was a great event.  You put together a fantastic festival that everyone enjoyed!

I'm looking forward to next year!”
