This year, the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival is proud to welcome two very special Mystery Performers, who will join us on the main stage on Sunday evening during back-to-back appearances.  Our anticipation of these talented performers is so great, we can hardly contain our excitement!

Teena Marie

Clues for Mystery Performer #1: Teena Marie

  • 1st Clue: This Grammy Award winning artist breaks boundaries with their voice and guitar.
  • 2nd Clue: This artist has countless hits spanning over 30 years.
  • 3rd Clue: There is a law named after this artist.
  • 4th Clue: This outstanding artist is the protégé of another great music legend.
  • 5th Clue: One of the first artists to rap on their singles.

 

The Whispers

Clues for Mystery Performer #2: The Whispers

  • 1st Clue: This double platinum group’s discography spans almost 40 years.
  • 2nd Clue: This group has recording roots in Philadelphia but a foundation on the west coast.
  • 3rd Clue: Philadelphia’s own Will Smith sampled their music.
  • 4th Clue: Their music can be heard in car video game.
  • 5th Clue: They are Hall of Famers.
